FAQ

Are there any cons to cruising?

There are some important things to consider when considering the pros & cons of cruising. Some people may not wish to spend their whole vacation on a boat. Some people prefer to be closer to the shore or stay in a hotel. Others might feel uncomfortable leaving land for such a long time. These worries can be easily overcome by taking a cruise that leaves you plenty of time to ashore.

How much do I tip my Cruise Director

This is dependent on the cruise line. Some cruise director receive tips and others don't. When you board the cruise ship, ask your Cruise Director if they need tips. They will often tell you if tips are expected.

Can I book my cruise prior to or after I have booked my airfare?

It depends on where you are travelling to. It's better to book your cruise earlier than later because you have more flexibility on dates. You could, for example, plan your cruise around the summer months if you are sure you will be visiting Europe. For those who are planning to go to South America or Asia, it might be a better idea to book your cruise after high season to avoid high prices.

How does cruising work?

When you book a cruise, you pay a deposit (usually $50-$100) when you reserve your cabin. Your balance is due 30 days before departure. You will check in to your cabin once you have arrived at the port. You might then be able to take part in an onboard activity.

Do I need to dress up on a cruise?

No, you don’t have to be dressed in formal wear or fancy attire. Be comfortable and ready for relaxation.
